The captains will be Nick Faldo for Team Europe and Paul Azinger for Team USA. The assistant captains for Europe will be José Maríe Olazábal and another assistant announced at a later date. Originally, Paul McGinley was selected as an assistant captain, but he resigned in September 2007. Raymond Floyd, Dave Stockton and Olin Browne will assist Azinger.
